Using Help!

About Help!

The Help! section is designed to allow users to post content on the PAPS website. There are two main types of content: 1) useful information (eg. academic, logistic, etc.) and 2) ads (meeting new people, renting a place, etc.).

All of Help! content is mainly target towards PAPS members, but information is visible to everyone.

Posting and editing information 

To create a new Help! post or ad, you need to be logged in. Once at the Help! section, just click on Post new topic.

 

Once on the editing page, it is much like editing a document in a word processor. Don't forget and adequate Subject and make sure you're posting on the correct section (Forums):

 

An important thing to consider, especially for ads, is that they tend to expire in time. If you're add is not eternal, please make use of the Scheduling Options and define an expiration date. The ad will automatically be removed then.

 

If you want to add an attachment, you may use the File Attachments section. You can select to list the files at the end of the post, or, if you wish to use them as links, in the post body, use the URL provided after you press the Attach button.

 

Finally, once posted, you may edit or delete your posts using the links that show up on the published page:

 

Reading ads on a RSS News Feed 

If you wish to be alerted of new ads, without having to check the website frequently, you can follow the RSS feeds of each chapter. Typically browsers will auto-detect the feed, as shown below for Safari, Firefox and Internet Explorer 8:

 

In case the browser doesn't detect it, or you want to manually add it to a RSS aggregator, such as Google Reader, you can always enter the URL of the page and add /feed to the end of it:
