The California Council on Science and Technology (CCST) is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for the 2010-2011 California Science and Technology Policy Fellowships based in Sacramento.
The S&T Policy Fellowship, a unique one-year professional development opportunity, provides the selected fellows with hands-on experience working with the California Legislature to incorporate science and technology into public policy.
Two postdoctoral positions are available at the University of Barcelona to study the basic mechanisms underlying collective cell migration. We are seeking one candidate with physics/engineering background to study the generation and transmission of physical forces in a migrating epithelial cell sheet, and one candidate with a cell/molecular biology background to perform a systematic analysis of the gene networks that regulate such forces.
Description: Description: Postdoctoral position is available in the Unniraman lab in the Department of Immunology at Duke University Medical Center (Durham, NC) to study the mechanism of affinity maturation of antibodies by somatic hypermutation and class switch recombination. We use cell-line-based genetic screens to identify cis and trans factors that target these mutagenic reactions to the antibody genes while ensuring the protection of the rest of the genome. You can get more details of our work at https://faculty.duhs.duke.edu/faculty/info?pid=29730.
A post-doctoral associate position is immediately available for an NIH funded project to study DNA damage checkpoint, DNA replication, and cell cycle control in human cells. Our laboratory uses molecular and cellular techniques to investigate genomic instability in cancer cells, regulation of DNA replication and its application for cancer therapy.
Full-time postdoctoral positions are available in the Altschuler and Wu laboratories, in the Green Center for Systems Biology and the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
The Science, Technology, and Public Policy (STPP) Program in the Ford School of Public Policy at the University of Michigan seeks to fill one postdoctoral fellow position (for two years in residence), starting Fall 2010. Fellows are expected to perform research in some aspect of science and technology policy, teach courses in science and technology policy (one course in Year 1 and two courses in Year 2), help to organize a seminar series, and work with faculty to develop the STPP program.
